We are pleased to announce that Regenerative Biomaterials (the official journal of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials) and Biomaterials Science (the official journal of the European Society for Biomaterials) are co-organizing a joint special issue in conjunction with the 9th China-Europe Symposium on Biomaterials in Regenerative Medicine (CESB 2026). This is an open call for original research articles and reviews that align with the scientific themes of the conference. Accepted manuscripts will be featured in a dedicated joint collection of the two journals, providing increased visibility and international exposure to the contributing authors.

Regenerative Biomaterials (https://academic.oup.com/rb), published in association with Oxford University Press, is the flagship journal of the Chinese Society for Biomaterials. Committed to advancing the research, development and clinical translation of biomaterials for regenerative medicine, the journal focuses on innovative research covering all aspects of regenerative biomaterials, including material design and modification, biomaterial-biological system interactions, tissue engineering, regenerative therapy, and the translational research of biomaterials from laboratory to clinical application.

Biomaterials Science (https://www.rsc.org/publishing/journals/biomaterials-science), published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, is an international high-impact journal exploring the science of biomaterials and their translation towards clinical use. The journal’s scope encompasses new concepts in biomaterials design, studies into the interaction of biomaterials with the body, and the use of materials to answer fundamental biological questions, with key focus areas including tissue engineering, therapeutic delivery, biointerface interactions and biomimetic materials.

Please note that authors may not submit the same manuscript to both journals simultaneously. However, a manuscript rejected by one journal may be submitted to the other for consideration only after the review process at the first journal has been finalized.
